German Meat Dish
Rouladen Dinner (stuffed Beefrolls)


Ingredients:

  • Lean Beef Roast 2 lbs sliced thin
  • German Mustard 1 tsp per roll
  • German Pickles 1 slice per roll
  • Bacon ( thin slices) 1 1x2 inch slice each roll
  • Onion ( sliced thin) 1 thin slice per roll
Procedure
Beef should be sliced about 3/8 " /slice Lay out on papertowel . Dry. Sprinkle with Salt and Pepper, spread Mustard over meat, place Bacon , Pickle and Onion on meat. Roll up tightly and secure with toothpick or thread. Brown in hot skillet. Remove from skillet and keep warm. Make gravy in skillet: add enough water to make thin gravy. season with salt and pepper. Plaace rouladen in roasting pan and pour gravy over Meat. cover and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or until meat is tender. Serve with Potatoes or Dumplings or Spaetzele and Red Cabbage.
