German Vegetable Dish
ROT KRAUT (sweet /sour red cabbage)


Ingredients:

  • Red Cabbage 1 head coarsly chopped
  • Allspice 3/4 tsp
  • Cloves 4
  • Apple 1 cored, peeled and chopped
  • Vinegar 1/2 cup
Procedure
Place all in saucepan. Add small amount water to prevent scorching. bring to boil and simmer until cabbage is tender. Add 1/4 cup butter or some bacon fat. when done; thicken with cornstarch.

Can be done easy in crockpot.
